China, Incredible 1942 surcharge of 50¢ and vertical bars specialized collection (Chan 655-662. Scott 527-528), a remarkable, superbly well-assembled and -annotated highly specialized mounted collection by province, beginning with 14 blocks of 4, all showing "SPECIMEN" overprint chops comprising black surcharges, Honan, Shensi, Kwangsi plus East and West Sezchuan; red surcharges of Hupeh, Kwangtung, Yunnan and Kweichow; plus five different Kansu types; in addition, the collection features mint and used examples, lots of mostly used perf 10½ types, a pair of Yunnan issues on domestic cover, Fukien issue on Express cover, a superb Kiangsi imprint block of 10 showing the "thin 16" variety as well as a huge surcharge shift to the right on the entire block, a wonderful Kansu irregular block of 15 (columns of 10 and 5) with bottom ten stamps the surcharge omitted variety, plus much, much more. Fresh, Very Fine, a lovely specialist lot to be sure; examine.

Scott 531-549), an absolutely stunning and very comprehensive mounted or hinged collection of hundreds, all mint, with many rarely offered gems within; begins with an amazing section of Specimen overprints including singles from Hunan, Kiangsi (5), Kwangsi (4), Kweichow (5) and Yunnan (3); from there, specialization by province is offered, including premium items like (Chan numbers) Fukien #690b top margin single, Honan #684 and 687, good Hupeh, extensive Kansu including #705a and 707b, Kiangsi #710 and 714b & 714c, Kwangsi #725c, nice Shensi, West Szechuan #760 bottom margin block of 6 with bottom stamps double surcharge varieties, and much, much more, bulk Very Fine, a fabulous study, exceedingly difficult to duplicate; specialist's delight.

China, Select, specialized one-volume 1937-48 definitive issue collection, lovely, keenly assembled and well-annotated, accurately assembled collection beginning with the Martyrs, which include some fifth printing imperforate blocks of 4, to the New York Sun Yat-sen printings, onto extensive Central Trust and Paicheng prints, which include detailed and accurate studies of paper, inks, shades, perforations, etc.; and finishing up with the 1944-46 Chung Hwa prints, generally Very Fine, very nice study; specialist's delight.
