China, 17 Manchurian local overprint covers, 1947-48, used from various different locations with different stamps, including Shenyang, Changchun, Tan A Pao, Su Ta Den, Wo Bi Tsan, Tan Dia Po, Lha Lin, Chinhsein, Fa Ko, Tien Ling, Shun O, Si Fong, Shu Tzuna etc. Dr. George Luzitano's opinion are these are all genuine stamps.

China, Group of about 70-80 covers/cards with about 10 fronts., from Junk covers to SYS, Martyrs, CNC, Gold Yuan franking on covers. Most are addressed to US. Besides originating from Shanghai and Beijing, there are other smaller town originations. Several are registered items, some are airmail cover, even a couple PRC and Taiwan covers. Very diverse and interesting group.

China, Selection of 7 covers and cards, 1923-48, 4 Junk covers including 1923 cover Harbin to Philippines, 1928 US marine in China Tientsin to US cover, 1926 Syracuse-in-China cover Chungking to US and 1928 Paquebot cancel with HK cds cover to US. Also a SYS 2½¢ postal card used as Japanese Military mail. Also two 1948 covers to US, one is on Lingnan University embossed cover Canton, the other a business letter from Shanghai both sent by airmail.

China, Collection of 15 covers/cards plus a cover back, many addressed to Australia, including a postwar missionary correspondence of 7 airmail covers addressed to Yorkston with Gold Yuan and CNC frankings. 1937 combination(?) cover Canton to Sydney. Also Gold Yuan stamps on a airletter sheet but with stamps removed. Also a mint commercial message on 1c junk PS card. Also 1947 China to US airmail FFC from Shanghai to US with commemorative cancel. Noticed a couple of covers with stamps off. Very useful lot.

China, Four US Sea Post cds's on China stamps covers plus 2 Junks on covers, 1932-41, 3 US Seapost covers addressed to US. The fourth Seapost is a 1941 cover addressed to UK with censor tape. Both junk covers addressed to US, one used from University of Amoy in 1925, the other From Victoria Hotel in Shameen Canton to Providence RI in 1933. 6 useful covers.

Lot 496

China, Group of 9 covers, all with red "Via Hongkong & by US Air Service" markings, used between May and July, 1937, all the covers originated from Shanghai to New York. 6 of these from Breen & Co. Mostly used with SYS and Martyrs stamps. This documented the relative short period of this marking. Otherwise, none of the covers received Hong Kong markings to show these had transited in Hong Kong, generally Fine.
Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.
