Japan, 1885 (May 11), cover sent from Tokyo to Roubaix, France, the correspondence continues; this cover bears a horizontal pair of 10s blue Kobans (J.S.C.A. 62, Scott 71), cancelled by mute foreign mail type, with matching "Tokio/Japan" thimble datestamp; transited Yokohama on May 12 and New York on May 22, arriving in Roubaix on June 15; a few faults including pulled perforation on one stamp and cover a little soiled, Fine to Very Fine usage.
