Japan, 1905-37, wide-ranging compilation of covers, 37 in total, ranging from a 1905 Russo-Japanese War Military Post cover to a 1937 First Flight Cover Japan to the US, posted by Dr. Sherwood Hall in Haiju, Korea; varied usages, including Military, Censored, Registered, plus good flight covers including both Clipper mail and Zeppelins; note two Airmail cards franked by 33s Airplane, one with incorrect "6 .3 .31" cancel crossed out in red and correct "6 .4 .1" cancel applied alongside; a properly rated and cancelled 1929 Graf Zeppelin 'round-the-world flight cover; two 1929 First Flight Covers (one each way) between Tokyo and Shikoku Island (Matsuyama); a dual over endorsed both "Per S/S 'President Pierce'" and "via Air Mail"; several Large Commemorative Datestamp-cancelled covers, two 1935 Manila-Tokyo First Flight Covers; etc.; also included is information—plus four publicity photos, identified—on the Clipper service; some toning and usage flaws as expected, but generally clean and sound, Fine to Very Fine, an interesting lot, imaged in full online.
