Szendy, Postmaster of Leitha-Banat, Very Fine.

Leitha-Banat with one of four German-speaking districts in western Hungary that were transferred to Austria by the Treaty of Trianon in 1920. The other three districts went along with the transfer, but the citizens of Leitha-Banat overwhelmingly voted to remain part of Hungary. Accordingly, stamps were issued during this brief period at the end of 1921 when the region was controlled by partisan forces and before the eventual annexation by Austria.
