Large OHMS unfranked envelope from Postmaster in Gisborne addressed to the Chief Postmaster in Napier which held telegrams from Gisborne unable to be forwarded due to earthquake damage the previous day. Flown to Hastings, where postmarked on receipt. Signed by pilot.

Large OHMS unfranked envelope from Postmaster in Gisborne addressed to the Secretary, General Post Office, Wellington, which enclosed newspapers showing earthquake damage from previous day. Postmarked Gisborne Sep 16 at 2:15 PM. Flown to Hastings and then by overnight railway to Wellington.
