Japan, 1905 (Sept 16) extraordinary picture post card from Manila to Yokohama to Manila, franked by 2¢ US "Philippines" overprint issue, sent on to Yokohama, were 5 narrow forwarding strips used by the Japanese as they looked for the addressee in Yokohama. When the addressee remained unfound, the card was advertised on 1 October 1905, with black oval "ADVERTISED YOKOHAMA" applied there, finally returned to Manila, reaching the Dead Letter Office on 2 January 1906. Extremely Rare advertised marking, being previously unrecorded.

Japan Used in Korea, Collection, 1923-44, 62 covers mounted and annotated on individual pages, ready for exhibit, illustrating Japanese stamps used to and from locations in Korea; collection is divided into three parts: the first 27 pieces of general postal history, the second 21 covers to Eisen (now Yeongcheon) and the third 14 covers from Taikyu to Eisen; highlights include an Earthquake card used in 1923, early use of the Tazawa granite papers, three covers from a previously unlisted post office (Dosan) and covers from Andong, Dongcheon, Fuyo, Uisan, and more (including three covers from Japan); Japanese-language gazetteer, with several additional covers, included. Condition is generally sound; though some covers show some wear and tear, mostly Very Fine, a lovely holding of hard-to-find material; inspect.
