Japan, Highly comprehensive, mostly mint collection, 1875-1994, mounted in two Minkus albums plus additional material on loose pages; a spectacular Koban-to-modern run, with only a handful of items needed for completion; the collector was a stickler for detail, so nearly all items are identified by Scott number with the gum condition noted (!); note such desirable and sought-after items as #85-86, 87-90, 152-154, 179-187, 212-213, 222 (never hinged), 234, 255, 257-275, 276-279, National Parks singles and sheets complete (#306a reduced, most sheets with original folders); a specialized Second Showa holding with paper, color and perforation varieties; full panes of 30 #403 and 406; #378a, 385a (2), 422a, 423, 436 (lightly hinged), 456, 457, 479a, 480-497, 498a (2, including a shade variety), 521A-521B, 522, 522a (2, one mint, one cancelled), 551a, 580a-580b, 609, B1-B3, B11 (2), C1-C2, C3-C7 and much, much more; loose album pages include Occupations, booklets, some picture post cards with commemorative cancels, a Ryukyus collection including First Printing #1-7, 16, 16a and 16b, plus many other items of interest; generally fresh and clean, Fine to Very Fine with better throughout, an excellent collection to complete and bring up to date.

Japan, Extensive stock of thousands, from Cherry Blossom issue onward, in four boxes of Scott-numbered glassines; strong Kobans, mostly used, and ideal for the cancel collector; through about WWII, items are mixed mint and used, with most material afterwards mint; note singles and multiples used, mint inscription blocks of the First Showa series, etc., with solid but not overwhelming duplication throughout; one box entirely Japanese Occupation issues, from across China, the Philippines, Manchukuo, Ryukyus, North Borneo, Malayan States, etc.; our spot check turned up most mint being never hinged (including earlier issues), but expect everything from pristine gum to no gum (the latter doubtful), Fine to Very Fine with better throughout, a grand unpicked old-time stash.

Japan, Enticing stock of souvenir sheets, 1938-72, several dozens in glassines or plastic pages, ready for stocking and selling; generally fresh, clean and, from our spot checks, never hinged (or without gum as issued), though the occasional condition issue creeps in; note various New Year and National Park issues (some of the latter with original folders), plus Expos and commemorative issues, including #283a (3, all appear never hinged), 288a (2, never hinged), 385a (never hinged), 422a (2, 1 lightly hinged, one appears never hinged), 423, 453a, 456 (never hinged), 580a, etc., up to 1972 Sapporo Olympics issue; note a few earlier or later stamp issues (including a full pane of 20 of #214), and even a page from a tourist "stamp album", Fine to Very Fine with much better throughout, a must-view lot; imaged online.

Japan, Outstanding collection of plated Wada Dragon forgeries, 246 in total, of both imperforate and perforated issues, cancelled and uncancelled; includes three rare varieties: 100mon, Plate A, State I, Position 3 without sanko; 5s, Plate A, State II, Position 3 uncancelled; and 5s, Plate A, State I, Position 2 uncancelled; fresh and sound throughout, Very Fine, a lovely compilation; inspection invited.
