Chinese Local Posts: Shanghai, Postal Card, c. 1885, Small Dragon, 1¢ lilac, unreported printing variety, with much of the frame lines missing on the imprint especially from top and right side. A very dramatic variety. Postally used with bilingual Shanghai local post marking in red and blue c.d.s. on back 1885 (SE 9). A normal card is supplied as comparison.

Chinese Local Posts: Shanghai, Postal Card, 1892, Double Dragon, 2¢ orange brown, used with Shanghai Local Post Jan 23, 1892 bilingual marking on front. Shanghai Local Post c.d.s. in blue on back with postman's chop 4 in circle. A 2-page article in Chinese about this item is included. This was an item written in Chinese between Francis King to Samuel Sassoon Senior at the Sassoon Estate at the Race Track (today's People Square). A very interesting item written in Chinese between 2 non-Chinese is very rare. The article documented the correct translation of this historical document and explained what the cryptic message was all about, Fine to Very Fine. Livingston PC6.
