1851, 1¢ blue, type II (Scott 7), tied by "BOSTON/6/SEP/PAID" town postmark on neat small cover to Chesterfield, Mass, with manuscript "Circular" endorsement (Plate# 88L2), cover slightly reduced at left and with minor age stains, stamp has deep rich color and sharp impression, large margins to just cutting at top, a Very Fine cover. 1852, 3¢ dull red, type II (Scott 11A), fine (with 3 large margins and cutting along bottom), tied by bold blue, "UTICA/May 13/N.Y." double oval on folded letter to Providence, R.I., stamp has nice color and sharp impression which is beautifully contrasted by almost perfect blue cancel; minor age toning around edges, otherwise a Very Fine cover.
