1847, 5¢ red brown (Scott 1), clear to large margins, tied by a partial blue "Philada. Pa./5 cts" c.d.s. on an 1850 folded letter to Columbia Pa. with a more complete strike of the "Philada 5 cts" c.d.s. with the date not struck up at the right; cover faults, stamp F-VF. Scott $465 .

1847, 10¢ black (Scott 2), an exceptionally fresh single with three huge margins, but close to just in at the bottom, tied by a red grid and by a very weak red Oct 9 Rochester, N.Y. c.d.s., on an 1847 folded letter to Detroit, Mich., F.-V.F. This is the second earliest of 21 Ten-Cent 1847 Rochester covers in Alexander's Census. Scott $1,050 .
