Germany, 1936 (Jan. 25), registered cover sent via Steamer Europa, Bremen to New York, a phenomenal eye-catcher of a cover; oversized linen envelope franked with three complete rows from the press sheet of stamps that went into the making of German booklet Michel #41 (pane #H-Blatt 104; Scott #B69 & B74), showing the tête-bêche plate arrangement; stamps cancelled by 12 strikes of the German-language "Deutsch-Amerikanisch Seepost/Bremen-/New York/25.1.36/Norddeutscher/Lloyd/D. Europa" bridge-type c.d.s., with manuscript "Einschreiben" at lower left alongside Seapost Registry label; reverse bears two black New York Registry Division 1.31.1936 receivers in black and a Times Square Station Feb 1 1936 receiver in violet; opened top and left, Very Fine, a true showpiece.
