Philippines, 1899, 50¢ orange, damaged font variety (Scott 212 var), block of 4, top right stamp damaged font variety showing spaces within the vertical bars of "PHI", previously considered a counterfeit, this variety is surrounded by three stamps with the normal fine overprint, o.g., never hinged, fresh paper and crisp detail, Fine, ex- Whitpain.
