Battle of Hampton Roads, patriotic cover depicting "The Great Naval Battle Between Ericsson's Monitor and the Merrimac, March 9th, 1862" (Weiss SC-MB 73d), franked with 3¢ rose (65) tied by a blue Cincinnati grid duplex, to Marion County, O.; upper right corner of stamp missing, Fine to Very Fine. A marvelous design.

Battle of the Ironclads, patriotic cover depicting the famous battle between U.S.S. Monitor and the C.S.S. Virginia (ex-Merrimac) framed by an Eagle atop two American Flags (Weiss SC-MB 58), franked with a pen-canceled 3¢ rose (65) with a manuscript postmark, "Augusta Iowa, Mar 5" written across the scene, to Denver City, Colorado Territory; edge wear and stamp slightly damaged, Fine.

Winfield Scott, two 3¢ pink (#64) singles canceled by a General Banks Division "G B D/ Nov 25" handstamp on a colorless embossed Winfield Scott patriotic cover (Weiss FP-WS-29) to New London, Ct., Fine to Very Fine, with a 1995 P.F. certificate noting "some foreign matter under the left stamp cause small faults".

The Stars and Stripes Triumphant, patriotic cover depicting (in purple) the War of 1812 Battle of Lake Erie after which Commodore Perry declared, "We have met the enemy and they are ours" (Weiss SC-MB-74), franked with 3¢ rose (65) tied by a Washington D.C. c.d.s., Nov 11, 1862; stamp damaged due to edge placement, cover open at bottom & right and soiled on the reverse, Very Fine appearance.
