Lot 5179

ca. 1953, 3¢ 10¢ & 50¢ Prexies paying postage and insurance (Scott 807, 815, 831), a single each tied to the back of a cut-down #UX27 by a Flora, Indiana roller cancel; above the stamps pen-inscribed "stamp here / insurance here" with "20#" notation in pencil; accompanying certificate states "likely reply card or postage due payment", the consignor clarifying that the card came off the metal mailing box used by the family to ship clothes and other items domestically; postal card unaddressed and uncancelled; card and stamps toned, 50¢ with missing corner, F.-V.F., an interesting—and unusual—Prexie rate usage, with 2020 A.P.S. certificate.
