Canada, 1929-30, King George V "Admiral", 3¢ red, reversed imperforate lithographic essays (Scott 151 var.), right margin pair, o.g., never hinged; light fold affecting right stamp, otherwise Very Fine. Suggested Bid $300
Prepared by a Dr. Eckerlin of the German firm Herbst & Illig, and presented to the American Bank Note Company in New York, to demonstrate the German firm's new process of rotary intaglio printing claimed to be on par with steel engraving, but much cheaper. They appeared on the market about 1951.
