Colman Stamp Dealer envelope, 2¢ with straight edge at bottom, tied by January 17, 1913 Washington D.C. machine cancel on a cover to Flint, Mich. with a corner card of prominent Washington stamp dealer, H.F. Colman; backstamped Flint on Jan 18; reduced a bit at left, otherwise Very Fine, with 1977 P.F. certificate.

THIS IS THE EARLIEST DOCUMENTED USE OF THE TWO-CENT PANAMA-PACIFIC.

According to a 1914 report from the Third Assistant Postmaster General, the Panama-Pacific Exposition issue "…was placed on sale January 1, 1913, except the 2c denomination which was first issued January 18, 1913.
